On March 11, 2019, support for our Flash player will end and instead all playback via browser will switch to using our HTML5 player.
To continue to enjoy your Deezer content via browser, an HTML5 compatible browser will be required or alternatively, you can switch to using our Desktop app.
What is Flash?
Adobe Flash is a software used for production of rich Internet applications mobile games and embedded web browser players.
In the past Deezer used Flash to power the music player through the browser, but an optional HTML5 player was developed and run alongside our flash player.
Why is Flash support ending?
With the introduction of new technologies such as HTML5, Adobe previously announced that they would stop supporting Flash in 2020.
Following this, the majority of browser creators started to phase out their support of Flash, with many stating they would completely cease support of Flash in 2019.
Which browsers support HTML5?
- Chrome - version 55 or higher
- Safari - version 10 or higher
- Firefox - version 54 or higher
- Edge - version 16 or higher
- Opera - version 42 or higher
- Vivaldi - version 1.6 or higher
Note – No version of Internet Explorer supports HTML5.
I do not wish to change my browser, what are my options?
