How to Link your Last.FM account to your Deezer account

The most common reason for this is that you are a non-admin member of a Deezer Family or Duo plan. The Sharing Preferences section is hidden for Family and Duo members by default. See the Things to know before you start section above for available workarounds.

If you have a standard Deezer Premium or Free account and still cannot see the option, try logging out and back in, clearing your browser cache, and visiting deezer.com/account/share again. If the issue persists, please contact us with your user ID and the email of your Deezer account so we can check.

Make sure you are visiting deezer.com/account/share using a web browser (not the desktop app or mobile app). The Sharing Preferences section is only accessible via the web player. No. The Last.fm connection can only be set up via the Deezer web player at deezer.com/account/share. However, once linked, your Deezer plays from mobile and other devices will be scrobbled automatically.

The Sharing Preferences section is hidden for Family plan members, including those with independent accounts (with their own email and password). However, there is a workaround: if you temporarily leave the Family plan, link your Last.fm account, and then rejoin the plan, scrobbling should continue to work. Yes. As the plan admin, you should have full access to Sharing Preferences at deezer.com/account/share and can link your Last.fm account directly.

If Deezer Free is not available in your country, leaving your Family plan to link to Last.fm may leave you without an active account until you are reinvited. In this case, we recommend contacting our Customer Support team, and we will do our best to help.

There is usually a short delay before scrobbles appear on Last.fm. On most platforms, this is just a few minutes. On Android TV, scrobbles can take between 30 minutes and 2 hours to appear. This is expected behaviour. If your scrobbles have not appeared after several hours, try unlinking and relinking your Last.fm account at deezer.com/account/share. If the problem continues, please contact us.

Occasional longer delays, sometimes 24 to 48 hours or more, are a known pattern with Deezer's scrobbling integration. These typically occur during periods of high load or brief technical issues between Deezer and Last.fm's systems. When this happens, your scrobbles are queued and will eventually appear on your Last.fm profile, though the order may be random.

If you experience a long delay, wait a few hours first. If scrobbles still haven't appeared after 48 hours, switching temporarily to the Web Scrobbler browser extension can help ensure your listening history continues to be captured.

Deezer and Last.fm track listening data independently and may not always match exactly. Deezer's internal statistics (such as your monthly listening recap) are calculated based on streams logged within Deezer's own system. Last.fm only counts tracks that were successfully scrobbled, which depends on the connection being active at the time of playback. Differences can occur if scrobbles were delayed or if the connection was temporarily interrupted. If you notice a large or consistent gap, please contact us with your user ID and the email of your Deezer account, and we'll look into it. Don't forget to share pieces of evidence so we can verify better the discrepancies. 

Duplicates happen when Deezer's built-in scrobbling and a third-party tool (such as Web Scrobbler or Pano Scrobbler) are both active at the same time. To fix this, decide which method you prefer and disable the other. To disable the built-in Deezer scrobbling, go to deezer.com/account/share and unlink your Last.fm account.

This is a known limitation of Deezer's built-in scrobbling integration. The "&" (ampersand) character is not always transmitted correctly when your plays are sent to Last.fm, which can cause discrepancies in artist, album, and track names — for example, "Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds" may appear as "Nick Cave the Bad Seeds" on your Last.fm profile.

Don't worry, your listening history is still being recorded. If accurate metadata is important to you, there are two options:

• Use a third-party scrobbling tool such as Web Scrobbler or Pano Scrobbler, which handle metadata more accurately

• Become a Last.fm Pro subscriber, which gives you access to an auto-edit tool that can automatically correct known metadata issues for future scrobbles, as well as fix past ones in your library

This is a known behaviour of Deezer's scrobbling integration. While Last.fm's official standard only counts a track as a scrobble after you have listened to at least 50% of it (or 4 minutes, whichever comes first), Deezer's built-in scrobbler does not always enforce this rule, meaning tracks can be submitted to Last.fm even when skipped early.

If accurate scrobble counts matter to you, using a third-party tool such as Web Scrobbler or Pano Scrobbler will correctly enforce the 50% rule before submitting a scrobble.

Related to the ampersand issue above, Deezer's built-in scrobbling also does not always transmit additional information in brackets, such as "(Remastered)", "(Deluxe Edition)", or "(feat. Artist Name)". This means tracks from deluxe editions may not be distinguished from standard versions on your Last.fm profile.

The same workarounds apply: use a third-party scrobbling tool such as Web Scrobbler, or use Last.fm Pro's auto-edit feature to correct these in your history.

Yes, this is expected. Deezer's built-in scrobbling integration does not support the "Scrobbling now" (now playing) feature on Last.fm. Your tracks will appear on your Last.fm profile only after they have finished playing or when the next track begins, not in real time.

If real-time "now playing" display is important to you, the Web Scrobbler browser extension supports this when you listen via the Deezer web player, as does Pano Scrobbler on Android. Remember to disable Deezer's built-in scrobbling first to avoid duplicates.

Yes! Deezer scrobbles to Last.fm on Android TV. Please note that there is a delay of approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours before your scrobbles appear on your Last.fm profile. This is normal; there is no need to take any action.

Yes. Once you have linked your Last.fm account via the web player, your mobile listening activity will be scrobbled automatically. You do not need to do anything in the mobile app itself.

Scrobbling via the built-in Deezer connection does not reliably work on the desktop app and is not officially supported. If you want to scrobble from your desktop, maybe consider using other tools, like the Web Scrobbler browser extension with the Deezer web player.

Yes. Once your Last.fm account is linked to your Deezer account via the web player, all your listening activity – on mobile, web, and Android TV – is automatically scrobbled to your Last.fm profile. Desktop app scrobbling is not reliably supported (see above). Remember: if you also use a third-party scrobbler on top of the built-in connection, you may get duplicate scrobbles.
