In this article, we discuss launching music (albums, artists, playlists and favorite tracks) on Deezer mobile and desktop app. Deezer Premium, Deezer Student, Deezer Family and Deezer HiFi subscribers can launch music on-demand in both consecutive order and shuffle

Note: Deezer Free users can only launch certain playlists in consecutive order on mobile
Launching music on mobile
When browsing music on mobile, you will see two types of PLAY buttons.
The icon next to PLAY indicates what order the songs will play in:
Consecutive: tracks are played, one after another in the order tracks are displayed*
Shuffle: tracks are rearranged and played in non-consecutive order
*This includes any sorting applied: Recently added, Default or alphabetical order
What happens when I press PLAY on mobile?
- Selecting
PLAY in Albums and Artists* will launch in consecutive order
- Selecting
PLAY in Playlists and Favorite Tracks will launch in shuffle
*Pressing PLAY will launch top tracks of the artist
Note: If you want to listen to Playlists or Favorite Tracks in consecutive order, you will need to either tap the first track in the list or use the steps in How do I turn Shuffle off on Deezer?
Launching music on Deezer desktop app
When listening to music on Deezer desktop app or deezer.com, music is launched in consecutive order by default.
- Selecting Listen
will launch your album, playlist or favorite tracks in consecutive order (one track after another)
- You can activate Shuffle
to rearrange tracks in non-consecutive order
Where can I find Shuffle?
On mobile
- Launch music on your Deezer player
- Look for the Shuffle
icon located on the right side of the player
On desktop
- Launch music on your Deezer player
- Look for the Shuffle
icon located on the right side of the player
How do I know if Shuffle is activated?
- If Shuffle
is active on mobile, a dot will appear below the icon
- If Shuffle
is active on desktop, the icon will change color to coral
How do I turn Shuffle off on Deezer?
Tap the Shuffle icon on the Deezer player.
- On mobile, the dot will disappear once Shuffle
is turned off
- On desktop, the icon will change color to black once Shuffle
is turned off
Note: Only paid subscribers can deactivate shuffle on all content on mobile. Deezer Free users can only deactivate shuffle on certain playlists. Learn more about the Deezer Free experience
