How to dislike Tracks or Artists
Don't want to hear a particular song or artist in your recommendations? No problem! Here's how to dislike them:
- When playing a song, tap the heart dislike button in the player
- Choose from two options:
- Don't recommend this track - removes just this song
- Don't recommend this artist - removes all songs from this artist
Tip 👉 Banned content will only be removed from recommendations - you can still find it by searching or in your playlists.
Managing Your Disliked Content
Want to see what you've banned or change your mind about something? Here's how:
- Open your Settings
- Tap "Manage my dislikes"
- You'll see lists of all your disliked tracks and artists
- Changed your mind? Tap the X next to it
What Happens When You Dislike Something?
When you dislike content, Deezer will:
- Remove it from your Flow
- Keep it out of your mixes and recommendations
- Learn your preferences to suggest better alternatives
Good to know 💡 If you dislike several tracks from the same artist, we'll ask if you want to dislike that artist completely. This helps us better understand your taste!
Tips for Better Recommendations
Want to get the most out of your personalized recommendations? Here are some easy ways to help fine-tune what you hear:
💜 Engage with what you love
The more you interact with content you enjoy, the better your recommendations will get!
- Like tracks, albums, and artists you love
- Create playlists and listen to them regularly
- Explore new music — your activity helps shape your future suggestions
✨ Be selective with dislikes
Use dislikes carefully — they tell us what not to recommend.
- Only dislike tracks you really don't want to hear again
- Skipping a track occasionally won't impact your recommendations as much
🎯 Choose the right option
Different options send different signals:
- Use "Don't recommend this track" to block specific songs
- Use "Don't recommend this artist" to avoid music from an artist entirely
🔄 Review from time to time
Your music taste can evolve!
- Check your disliked content occasionally
- Remove dislikes if your preferences change
Remember ⚠️ Disliking content only affects recommendations. You can still find disliked tracks by searching or in your playlists.
