All about that bass? Or just particular about how your music sounds? Check out the equalizer.
What is an equalizer?
An equalizer gives you the option to customize the level of some audio frequencies for the music to sound amazing to your ears.
Please note: There will only be an equalizer option if your device has one built into it
Where is the equalizer on the app?
- Select Settings
(displayed on the top-right corner on any of your Deezer tabs)
- Select Audio
- Use the slider
to Activate equalizer (iOS users, you need to click on the arrow next to Equalizer first)
- Have a play around with the settings
Where do you start?
The Deezer app is preset with an extensive range of different preset equalizer options, or you can make your own. Some of the preset options are:
- Pop
- Classical
- Rock
- Piano
- Small speakers
Want to do it yourself?
A custom option is available if you want to alter the sound quality and effects on your own, from scratch.
Depending on the version of the app and the make and model of your phone, the equalizer is a bit different, but there are the basic steps:
- Follow steps 1 – 4 as above
- Click on a preset equalizer option
- Adjust the dials/columns
Why do other songs sound weird after using the equalizer?
What sounds good with one song may not with the next so don’t forget to check your equalizer if you’re suddenly hearing way too much of something.
You can deactivate the equalizer by following the same steps as activating it or choose another preset equalizer from the list on your device.
