For assistance connecting Bluetooth headphones to your Garmin, visit their support page.
Note: Garmin’s support for Bluetooth headphones varies. Headphones with full support will display the volume level when you try to increase/decrease the volume from your Garmin. If headphones can’t connect properly or are only partially supported, then the image +/- is displayed – and in this case, you will only be able to control the volume from your headphones.
How to listen to music on Garmin
After you have downloaded your playlists or Flow, and connected your Garmin to a Bluetooth audio device, you’re ready to go.
For Garmin watches with online support, you can search for and streaming music from Deezer directly.
Selecting Deezer as an audio source
Before you can play content you have downloaded (or want to stream), you must set Deezer as the default audio source.
- Open the music controls or select the Source menu
- Select Source > Deezer
- Select My Music
- Select the music you want to play, and press START
The music source on Garmin always returns to the last service used by you.
Browsing music
Open the Deezer app on your Garmin by going to Manage > Music Providers > Deezer.
At the top you will see Favorite Tracks. Here you can access your 40 most recently favorited songs (ordered from the most recently updated to the oldest).
The My Playlists menu will take you to your playlists. Below it is Flow.
When browsing playlists, they are ordered with the most recently updated playlists at the top. Songs in your playlists are sorted according to how you have sorted them on Deezer.com – for instance, in manual order, A-Z, or by recently added song.
The Shuffle Play button allows you shuffle all songs on your device.
Playback
To begin playing a playlist, first select a track, then return to your Garmin’s Home screen.
While music is playing, you can pause/play the track, and select the arrow icons to skip to the next track or previous track.
Returning to a previous track isn’t possible when listening to Flow.
Remember: you can always return your music playback experience by holding the DOWN button (on Forerunner 645 Music, Fenix 5 Plus family) or holding the side button and touching the music icon (on Vivoactive 3 Music).
Shuffle songs
Tap Shuffle Play to begin listening to all of the songs on your Garmin in shuffle mode – excluding Flow.
You can shuffle just the songs in a playlist, too. First select a playlist and return to your Garmin’s Home screen. Then, select the Shuffle icon to begin playing the playlist in shuffle mode.
Checking your storage space on Garmin
To see how much storage space remains on your Garmin, go to Manage > Music Providers > Deezer > About.
You will see the app version number and its remaining storage space.
